There’s never a bad time to walk your dog to or from a pub, however Autumn is definitely our favourite. The season of ‘mists and mellow fruitfulness’ holds the promise of crisp conditions and the added interest of leaf piles for inquisitive hounds.

Walking your dog in Southern Snowdonia
Given our location on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park you won’t be surprised to find that we are blessed with miles upon miles of dog friendly walks. Walk them up Cadair Idris, or along the Mawddach Trail or if you fancy some truly stunning views, try the Foel Ispri Accessible Dog Walk. This 1km route is a short drive from the hotel, cut into the valley side of Foel Ispri. The route is wheelchair-friendly and is renowned for its stunning panoramic views of the Mawddach Estuary and the peaks of southern Snowdonia.

Seasonal dog walking tips
Whenever you are planning to walk, there are a few tips you should follow to make sure every adventure is a happy one. On shorter, darker days; Invest in some high viz for you and your dog and carry a dedicated torch.
When the days eventually get brighter and warmer, replace the high viz and torch with sunscreen and water (for you and the dog). Then, whenever you go remember that having a charged phone is a modern day essential, as is keeping your pooch on a lead, especially in open countryside.
